mission statement
The mission of LEAP is to provide a system of relevant opportunities that make positive differences in the lives of children and adults within the community. The LEAP concept uses interactive games and sports to engage young children. It is imperative that the community empowers each citizen to develop the knowledge, skills, and character to be a productive contributor in the 21st century.
functions
Depending upon human and financial resources, the major functions of the LEAP would be to:
- Support the healthy development of children and youth through structured programming
- Support the academic, personal/social, and cultural development of students within the community
- Provide support to the significant adults in the lives of children of the community
- Partner with County agencies to enhance the quality of life of children, adolescents and their families

- After School program
- Homework assistance
- Skill mastery in reading and math
- Skill acceleration toward placement in advanced academic programs
- Test preparation / project completion/SAT and ACT preparation
- Field trips to colleges and to cultural, historical, educational, recreational sites
- Recognition for achieving goals
- Leadership training and asset building workshops for children, adolescents, families, and significant adults in the community
- Summer acceleration program to advance the participation of sports and academic skills for children and young adults.
